Jane Ditzler reported that she met with the Mayor, at his request, with regard to the water feature and sculpture for the 78th Avenue Plaza project. She said that he wants to put this project back into the hands of the Arts Council, and asked her to Chair a committee for this purpose. Additional committee members might include Terry Moreman, Chamber of Commerce; a business person from the community; three Arts Council members; and three staff members. Jane asked Helen Martin and Fred Poyner to serve on the committee as the remaining two Arts Council committee members.
Amber Britton reported on the 78th Avenue Plaza Project at the request of Parks & Recreation Director, Bruce Fletcher. The project will go before the Planning Commission on June 19th to find out whether or not they are in support of the project. This is contrary to Chair, Jane Ditzler’s report, but there should be more information available at the July meeting.

Preliminary budget recommendations will be reviewed in July and should be finalized sometime in October. She asked them to consider programs that might be cut as well as new programs. She reminded everyone that 4Culture will probably not provide a grant next year and possibly in 2012 as well.
