CALL TO ORDER:|
The meeting was called to order at 5:04 pm at the City of Mercer Island Caucus Room, 9611 SE 36th Street, Mercer Island, WA.
Commissioners Blakney, Hill & King, Police Chief Holmes, Fire Chief Tubbs, Deputy Fire Chief Heitman, Police Commander Burns, Police Commander Jokinen, Personnel & Training Sergeant Hyatt, Chief Examiner Segle.
Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes – The Commission reviewed the minutes of the meetings of May 12, 2009.
MOTION: Moved by King and seconded by Blakney to approve the minutes of May 12, 2009 as submitted. Motion carried.
Personnel Orders – There were none.
Police and Fire Rosters – There were no changes.
Review Police Candidate’s Petition to Accept College Credit from Unaccredited School – Personnel and Training Sergeant Hyatt reviewed the waiver request submitted by entry-level police officer candidate Michael Morgan. The Commission reviewed the school’s website and Mr. Morgan’s class schedule and history. Chief Holmes stated that the candidate’s education background meets the spirit that the education requirement strives for.
MOTION: Moved by Blakney and seconded by Hill to grant the education waiver request submitted by entry-level police officer candidate Michael Morgan. Motion carried.
