Ballot Drop Box at the Community Center Opens 7/12
July 12, 2017 - On July 12, King County Elections will be mailing ballots to registered voters for the August 1 Primary Election. Information about how to get your ballot and how to return it is below.  Learn about candidates and measures on the August 1 ballot.
 

How to get a ballot

  • By mail
​​If you are registered to vote, you will receive a ballot in the mail.
  • Accessible voting options

Voting by mail is a convenient option for most people.
There are other options available if you need assistance voting.

  • Going out of town? Hereís how to get your ballot:
  • By Mail: If you will be near a mailbox, King County Elections can send your ballot to you anywhere in the world. Contact King County Elections with your mailing address and let us know how long you will be there. We will mail your ballot directly to you.
  • Online: If you have access to the internet and a printer, you can download and print your ballot. You have different ballot return options, depending on where you are.
  • Before you leave: If you wonít be home to receive or return your regular mail ballot and are not able to access your ballot online, you can get a ballot before you leave. Contact King County Elections to find out more.

Returning my ballot

You can vote and return your ballot as soon as you receive it. Returning your ballot early allows time to correct any issues with your signature so your ballot can be counted.
  • By mail
Put a first-class stamp on your ballot and mail it back to King County Elections. Your ballot must be postmarked by election day. Donít wait until the last minute!
  • Ballot drop box at MICEC
NEW! Return your ballot to ballot drop box located at the Mercer Island Community & Event Center (8236 SE 24th Street), no stamp required. Your ballot must be returned to the ballot drop box by 8 p.m. on August 1. Plan ahead to avoid lines.
  • Accessible voting centers
King County accessible voting centers (AVCs) are available to voters who need assistance completing their ballot. Trained staff and specialized equipment are available to help voters with disabilities cast a private, independent ballot.
