Lincoln Landing Design Meeting

Aug 17, 2017 - The Mercer Island Parks and Recreation Department will be holding a public meeting to discuss the conceptual design for the upcoming Lincoln Landing renovation project on Weds, September 6, from 6:00 8:00pm in Room 102 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center (8236 SE 24th St).

Lincoln Landing, one of the City's many street-end parks, serves as the outlet for over 100 acres of stormwater drainage on the north end of the island. Over the years high-velocity runoff has eroded a steep channel which is covered with invasive species. In the coming year, the City plans to improve this watercourse to create a stream that park users can see and enjoy, and that will filter pollutants out of the stormwater before it enters Lake Washington, and also foster higher quality habitat for birds and wildlife.

The community is encouraged to provide input on the design of this street end park for access, site aesthetics and wildlife habitat quality.
Representatives from PND Engineering and HBB Landscape Architecture will present a conceptual design for the park area, discuss project constraints and objectives, and will incorporate community input as they develop the final project design.  The design team and City staff will be available to answer questions pertaining to this project. Throughout the design process, written and electronic mail comments are welcomed.
