The Mercer Island Community Fund's "Grand Parade" for 2010 should bring out all the fun fashions from the past 100 years. We are talking poodle skirts & saddle Shoes, Leg Warmers & Big Hair, Bellbottoms & Tye-Dye and so much more!!! Get ready for this year’s Summer Celebration, "Parade of Decades" Parade, beginning at 10 am on July 10, 2010!
The parade will kick off the 2-day street festival. Join the fun and participate in a community parade! Parade entries (especially marching bands are needed). Group and individual categories include: children, community organizations, businesses, individuals in costumes, marching teams, vintage cars, dancing groups, musical groups/bands, animal groups, and mascots. The parade is a SEAFAIR sanctioned event. Parade length is just under ½ mile. The parade route goes along 78th Avenue SE between SE 27th Street and Mercerdale Park.
Join the first Summer Celebration! Community Band: Bert Pound, a long-time Islander and member of the Bellevue Community band, is organizing the first Summer Celebration marching band to participate 206-232-0762 if you are interested. View or download the flyer advertising this event.
