Mark Whitman
Windermere Stage - Mercerdale Park
Mark Whitman started playing guitar in Walla Walla, WA, then set out for Texas. He played in the Blue Flames one of the first integrated bands in Texas. He then went to work with Don and The Goodtimes and later with The King Biscuit Entertainers before returning to Seattle and playing in local favorite bands, like the Springfield Rifle Band, for many years. In one of the great stories of human spirit triumphing over adversity, Mark has battled back from a debilitating stroke suffered in 2007 to regain his place in Seattle's musical world. Physically unable to play his beloved guitar he has refocused his legendary talents to the Hammond Organ with great success! Mark's distinctive vocals and incredible musicality were blessedly never affected by the condition, paving the way for a musical rebirth that has inspired countless friends and audiences alike. Winning the 2010 Washington Blues Society's "Best Male Blues Vocalist" award just proves that Mark is not only "back"....he never left.

THE BEATNIKS - Definitive '60s & '70s Rock'n Roll of the Cultural Revolution
Firework Stage - Luther Burbank Park
The Beatnik history can be traced back to the steamy coffee shops and poetry dens of Soho, In New York's Greenwich Village. Today, the Beatnik legacy lives on in four young men who adhere to the ideology that music is more than a mere background for our lives.
They perform the music of the 60's & 70's (and 80's, too); with energy and passion that you won't find anywhere. Capturing the essence of the music with their charisma, chemistry and natural talent is why people all over the world are fans of the band.
The Beatniks are a rarity; not often does a band come along that is able to do everything right, but do it to near perfection as well. In true Beatnik tradition, these boys will provide the feel and soul of an era long erased from our calendars, but not from our memories…they create the memories of a lifetime.
