Pedestrian and Bicycle Facilities Plan

A Pedestrian and Bicycle Facility
The City of Mercer Island is updating the Pedestrian and Bicycle Facilities Plan. The Pedestrian and Bicycle Facilities Plan, originally approved in 1996, guides investments and other actions relating to Mercer Island’s pedestrian and bicycle facilities such as trails, crosswalks, bike lanes, and sidewalks. The majority of the projects and improvements from the 1996 plan have been partially or completely implemented and it’s now time to update the plan.
Thank you to the many citizens who have provided their insight. Citizens were invited to comment at public workshops on October 28, 2008 and on July 22, 2009. The Planning Commission also conducted an Open Record Public Meeting on August 19, 2009.
