Downtown Festival Parking: Festival parking is limited to off-street parking around Mercerdale Park and in the downtown streets of Mercer Island. Some lots allow festival parking while most of the shopping complex lots strictly forbid it (expect to be ticketed and fined by the businesses if you fail to adhere to the posted signs).
Evening Fireworks Shuttle:
Kitchen Plus is sponsoring a Fireworks Shuttle that will be offering shuttle rides in a continuous loop from Mercer Island City Hall to Luther Burbank Park from 6:30pm to 9:45pm. At the end of the festival, several buses will be lined up to return riders to City Hall and will loop back until all riders have been transported. AVOID the parking and after festival congestion by taking advantage of the hassle-free shuttle rides sponsored by Kitchen Plus. The South Luther Burbank Parking lot, Mercer Island Community & Event Center parking lot, and limited off-street parking is available for parking during the Fireworks festivities at Luther Burbank Park. NOTE: Expect long delays exiting the parking lots. These lots will be limited to one exit lane for hundreds of cars and must be alternated with walkers leaving the festival controlled by the Mercer Island Police Department. THERE WILL BE DELAYS. For a hassle-free experience, consider using the Fireworks Shuttle.
Mercerdale Park (main festival) is 0.7 miles, or a 15 minute walk from the Mercer Island Park & Ride. Luther Burbank Park(Fireworks-Luau on the Lake) is 0.3 miles, or a 7-minute walk from the Mercer Island Park & Ride. Sound Transit Buses 550 and 554 serve this location.
At the downtown main festival, bike racks are located in the corner of Mercerdale Park, near the stairs at the 78th Ave. SE and SE 32nd St. For the activities at Luther Burbank Park (Shakespeare, Boat Rides, Fireworks & Luau on the Lake) bike racks are located near the tennis court walkway entrance, near the kiosk in the North Luther Burbank parking lot.
Wristbands & Tickets for Children’s Inflatable Rides:
National Event Pros will be providing inflatable attractions in the Children’s Fun Zone in Mercerdale Park. Ride tickets cost $2 per ticket and each ride will take 1 to 4 tickets for one-time use. Wristbands are also available which provide the following:
Weekend Everything Wristband: $35- This wristband includes unlimited rides on attractions all weekend at Mercerdale Park downtown, unlimited rides at the Luau on the Lake Fireworks Festivities at Luther Burbank Park Saturday night, and unlimited train rides.
Saturday Only Wristband: $18- Unlimited rides Saturday only downtown at Mercerdale Park. This wristband does not include the train, but it does provide a $1 discount for train rides. This does not include the rides at the Luau on the Lake fireworks festivities on Saturday night.
Sunday Only Wristband: $18- Unlimited rides Sunday only downtown at Mercerdale Park. This wristband does not include the train, but it does provide a $1 discount for train rides.
Tickets and wristbands will be sold from a booth with large flags in the middle of the attractions at Mercerdale Park. Lines can get really long on Saturday morning with everyone purchasing at the same time at the conclusion of the parade. Avoid the ticket line and start having fun right away by purchasing your wristbands in advance at the Mercer Island Community & Event Center (8236 SE 24th Street, Mercer Island) from July 2nd (closed the 4th of July) to July 13th. Festival Information Booth:
Festival Information including maps, printed schedules of events, crafter’s directory, and more can be found at the corner of 77th Ave. SE and SE 32nd St (near old Recycle Center) in the Parks & Recreation/Information booth tent.
Hotline/Live Festival Help:
The Summer Celebration! Hotline, 206-275-7857 is available as a message line until end of day Friday, July 13th. On this date the number will be switched to Festival Headquarters to be used as live help during festival hours Saturday (10am to 7pm) and Sunday (10am to 5pm).
First Aid/Lost Child:
King County Search & Rescue will be at the stairway entrance to Mercerdale Park to provide lost child and first aid services to festival attendees during the day and at the main entrance to the park during the Fireworks festivities. King County Search & Rescue provide these services as volunteers so please stop by and thank them for their long time continued support!
Lost & Found:
Lost & found items turned in will be kept at the festival information booth located in Mercerdale Park at the corner of 77th Ave. SE and 32nd St (near old Recycle Center). Stop by here to claim your missing item. After the festival, items will be transferred to the Mercer Island Community & Event Center to be kept three weeks before discarding.
Collector Souvenir pins, lanyards, and posters are on sale at the Parks & Recreation/Information Booth near the old Recycle Center in the Northwest corner of Mercerdale Park.
