A FREE Let’s Move! Mercer Island event presented by The M.I. Food Revolution and Parks & Recreation Department

Meet Author, Cynthia Lair
When & What you eat can have a positive effect on your performance. Come hear how! Join Cynthia for a lively presentation on how you can fuel your brain and body for optimal performance. Cynthia Lair. Author of the popular cookbook Feeding the Whole Family, and second edition of her book, Feeding the Young Athlete: Sports Nutrition Made Easy for Players, Parents and Coaches. Cynthia has been on faculty for Bastyr University’s School of Nutrition & Exercise Science since 1994 and is a founder of their BS in Nutrition & Culinary Arts program.

Special guest:  Daniel Shapiro, U.W. Basketball Strength & Conditioning Coach.

Lil’Ones Egg Hunt
Hop on over to Mercerdale Park for the annual Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt just for the little ones! Our resident bunny & frog have been hard at work putting together eggs, candy and prizes for everyone and plan to make a special visit to the egg hunts to say “hello”. Bring a basket and your sweet tooth and get ready to hunt for goodies. Find a golden egg for the “eggstra” special surprise. A separate section will be reserved for the 1 to 3 year old hunters. Please, no children over the age of 6. No registration required. Sponsored by Windermere Real Estate.
*No parents in the field for ages 4-6.

No it is not a non-chipped run, no official timing or bibs.  There will be a clock at the end for runners to see their own time. 
Yes!  A free t-shirt for all runners. 
Where does the run start & where do we park?
The start and finish line is in the Luther Burbank Meadow area.  Parking located at the north and south LB lots.  Please carpool!
National Trails Day & Letterboxing
Celebrate the trails of Pioneer Park while hunting for hints and clues!  Pick up a clue book, make a stamp and start hunting! Pioneer Park has 6.6 miles of trails for hiking, running and walking. Come outside and play! Meet us in the NW quadrant along 68th (across from Starbucks). Sponsored by Bark Avenue.

All Island Track Meet (Finals)
It’s the 45th Annual All-Island Track Meet for 4th and 5th grade boys and girls who attend Lakeridge, Island Park, St. Monica’s or West Mercer Elementary Schools. Participants will be assigned to their events through a qualifier held during their PE classes. Contact your PE teacher for more info.

Camp Burbank Community Camp Out
Camp Burbank’s Community Campout is a great way to “get away from it all” and still be close to home. We do all the hard work like cooking, cleaning and coming up with FUN things for you to do. All you are responsible for is your tent, personal items, and sleeping bags! Activities will include fishing, beach play, swimming, volleyball and more, all in beautiful Luther Burbank Park! Campsite, Saturday night dinner, smores, snacks, drinks and Sunday morning breakfast provided. Children must register with an adult. Meet us in the meadow.
