|Adventure Playground Fun!|
Adventure Playground Open June 26 - September 30, 2018
Adventure Playground is a one of a kind play area that allows kids to create their own play adventure. Nestled in the wooded forest of Deane's Children’s Park, children are provided toolboxes, various building supplies, safety items and the freedom to create build-it-yourself play zones with the guidance of Staff. Sponsored by JayMarc Homes and Mercer Island Community Fund.
A New Partnernship with YouthBuild
YouthBuild is a six month job training pre-apprentice program for young adults ages 18-24. The program offers GED/HSD completion, case management support, employment readiness skills, and pre-apprenticeship training. After students graduate they receive 12 months of follow-up from their case manager to continue to help support them in achieving their goals, including to place students in apprenticeship programs in the trades. JayMarc Homes & the Parks & Recreation Department is proud to have Youth Builders on site at the adventure Playground this summer helping with our young builders.
