The PEAK project was submitted to the City for review in 2006. Between the application and subsequent approval of the project and issuance of building permits in 2009, multiple legal agreements were entered between the City, the District, the Boys and Girls Club and a neighborhood group “Islanders For Common Sense” (Neighbors).
These agreements included:
These agreements covered a variety of items, such as:
- The allowed impervious surface coverage of the School District Mega Block;
- The type and quantity of vegetative screening required between the new PEAK building and the neighborhood;
- Traffic monitoring;
- Facilities scheduling; and
- Ongoing meeting schedules between the parties once the PEAK building was constructed and operational.
