ISLAND CREST PARK SPORTSFIELD IMPROVEMENTS


DATE OF BID OPENING:  March 14, 2017    
TIME: 11:00am

Sealed bids for the Island Crest Park Sportsfield Improvements will be received by the City of Mercer Island at the DSG Permit Counter, 9611 SE 36th Street, Mercer Island, Washington 98040 until  11:00 AM, local time on March 14th, 2017 at which time bids will be opened and publicly read aloud.  Bids received after the appointed time set for receipt will be returned unopened.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The work to be performed includes furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for converting the existing athletic field to synthetic turf and providing a new sports lighting system and controls, including, but not limited to: demolition, excavation, grading, subsurface drainage system installation, synthetic turf field construction, providing a new sports lighting system and related electrical work, fencing, concrete work, grassing, site restoration, and all other related work described in the Bid Documents in accordance with the Contract Documents.  Engineer’s Estimate for this work is $2,025,000.00.

A single contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder submitting the lowest responsive bid for the schedule(s) selected by the City after bid opening and prior to award. Each bidder, by submission of the proposal, acknowledges and understands the rights reserved by the Owner in awarding the contract and the Owner’s right to modify the size of the project.
 
Bids are to be submitted only on the forms provided in the Specifications.  All bidding and all construction shall be carried out in compliance with the Plans and Specifications for this project.

Each bid proposal shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier’s check, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of such bid proposal.  Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the same time stated in the Specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Mercer Island.

The City expressly reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive minor informalities and irregularities in the bidding process. Bids shall remain open for a period of sixty (60) calendar days from the date of Bid opening and no bidder may withdraw their bid during this period.

Free-of-charge access to project bid documents (plans, specifications, addenda, and Bidders List) is provided to Prime Bidders, Subcontractors, and Vendors by going to www.bxwa.com and clicking on "Posted Projects", "Public Works", and "City of Mercer Island".   This online plan room provides Bidders with fully usable online documents with the ability to: download, view, print, order full/partial plan sets from numerous reprographic sources, and a free online digitizer/take-off tool.  It is recommended that Bidders “Register” in order to receive automatic e-mail notification of future addenda and to place themselves on the “Self-Registered Bidders List".  Bidders that do not register will not be automatically notified of addenda and will need to periodically check the on-line plan room for addenda issued on this project.  Contact Builders Exchange of Washington at (425) 258-1303 should you require assistance with access or registration.
