Worldwide Day of Play
Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play is an event designed to promote the importance of PLAY. The Nickelodeon Channel will “go black” for several hours on September 25th to encourage families to make time for play. We will host a “Let’s Just Play” event at Mercerdale Park as a part of being a “Playful City, USA”. Activities will include toys, games & equipment for play with music and other surprises. Hot Spot Basketball Competition
The Annual Hot Spot Basketball is a basketball skills competition involving shooting from fi ve “Hot Spots” marked on a basketball court. The competition tests young athletes’ all-around skill within a series of one-minute rounds. The youth with the highest score is declared the winner within their age bracket. The event is open to boys and girls ages 7 – 14. Participants that win the local competition qualify to participate in the State event!

“Sweet Cakes” – Valentine’s Day Senior Tea

“Fancy Pants” Community Dance
This is a fun way to spend time with your family! You will have the opportunity to learn a new style of dance and then put your new moves into action when a live band performs–all while wearing fancy pants and admiring those fancy pants around you. Wear whatever you consider to be “fancy!” Prizes will be awarded for the best “fancy” pants, so unleash your creativity! Light snacks and beverages will be included.
