The City maintains several plans to help Mercer Island prepare for emergencies and disasters, including the following:

2012 City Emergency Management Plan

This plan provides the City of Mercer Island guidance in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from an incident. It discusses guidelines on how city departments coordinate their actions to continue essential functions.

2015 Hazard Mitigation Plan

Hazard mitigation is sustained action taken to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to people and their property. Mercer Island's Hazard Mitigation Plan creates a framework for risk-based decision making to reduce damages to lives, property, and the economy from future disasters.

2009 Mercer Island Influenza Pandemic Plan

This Plan provides a guide so the City of Mercer Island can continue to provide essential services in the event of an influenza pandemic.

2011 Debris Management Plan

The Debris Management Plan is to facilitate a rapid response and recovery to debris causing incidents in the City of Mercer Island.
