Picnic Shelter - The Park on the Lid
72nd Avenue SE & SE 22nd Street Park Overpass
The Park on the Lid Picnic Shelter is a 30' x 25' covered shelter with seating at tables for 64 people. There are three BBQ's, a drinking fountain, 1 each 20 amp electrical outlet, a children's play area and a 200' x 150' grass play area.
The Picnic Shelter is located 150 feet from the parking lot under the 72nd Avenue overpass. Driving Directions
With a spectacular view of the Cascade Mountains and Lake Washington, the picnic shelter is the perfect setting for a family reunion, group picnic or a summer office party or a gathering of any kind.
The Picnic Shelter can be rented from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Reservations can be made up to one year in advance. Call 206-275.7873 to make a reservation.
Picnic shelter cancellation notice must be received no later than seven (7) working days prior to your event to receive a full refund less a $10 administrative fee.
Refunds are not given due to inclement weather.
Additional picnic areas are available for rent at Luther Burbank Park.

Special Events
A Special Event Application is required for any event at the Picnic Shelter where there will be one hundred and twenty-five (125) or more people in attendance. This application process must be completed before the Shelter can be reserved. Please contact Merrill Schadt at 206-275.7873 for more information on the Special Event Application process and fees.
