Call To Order:

Chair Barry Massoudi called the meeting to order at 6:40 pm at the Mercer Island Library, address, Mercer Island, Washington.


Roll Call:

Present: Barry Massoudi, Susan Landon, Erin Curtiss, Judy Leithe, Beth Brennen, Katalin Pearman, Margaret Minnick, Sandra Schilling, and Councilman Steve Litzow. 

Staff Present: Jennifer Berner, Diane Mortenson



Mary Pat Byrne, Arts Specialist; Bellevue Arts Commission, presented an overview of Bellevueís Cultural Plan. Handed out information and resources.



It was moved by Member Margaret Minnick to;


Approve Regular Meeting Minutes of July 14, 2004 as written.


It was seconded and the motion passed.


Treasurerís Report:

Jennifer Berner presented the Arts Council budget that will go to review in front of City Council for the budge cycle of 2005-2006.  The 2004-2004 was recapped.


Chairís Report:

Barry handed out and discussed a straw model of the MIAC programs and activities.  The model included individual duties of each chair and staff as well.  Next year the King County Performance Network will be a site specific program for each participating organization.  The budget is currently $7,500.  Barry will try for $15,000 for a fall of 2005 program.


Performance Arts:                               

Beth recapped the 2004 Music in the Park season.  To date $11,500 has been collected in sponsorships, $1,013 in concessions and $450 in patron donors.  The total cost of bands was $10,800.  Beth handed out the 2004 stats.



Judy reviewed upcoming events to include a film series starting with classics.  These films will be free at the library.  The book club is still running strong and will continue.  Judy has met with the Seattle Shakespeare for a possible partnership.



Jennifer will collect hour sheets.

Staff Report:   

City Council has reviewed the bid for the construction of the new center at 7.9 million.  The same construction company as Island Square Market will be used.
