Call To Order:

Chair Barry Massoudi called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm at the Mercer Island Library, address, Mercer Island, Washington.


Roll Call:

Present: Barry Massoudi, Susan Landon, Erin Curtiss, Katalin Pearman, Margaret Minnick, Sandra Schilling, and Councilman Steve Litzow. 

Staff Present: Jennifer Berner, Diane Mortenson



There were none.



It was moved after a correction to the year under the treasurer report, by Susan Landon to;

Approve Regular Meeting Minutes of August 11 minutes as written.

It was seconded and the motion passed.


Treasurerís Report:                 

Jennifer Berner will mail updated budget reports.


Chairís Report:

Barry handed out a call for artists for the KC Performance Network.  Mercer Island artists are invited to audition for the 2005 Network.  Staff will mail invitations to the Art Directory, as well as the list of performing groups on the island.


Performance Arts:                               

No Report.



Katalin reported upcoming fall events at the library. 



Jen Berner will collect hours via email or regular mail.



After Erin meets with Michael the retreat date will be set.


Public Art:                   

The contract for Community Center artist Wayne Chabre will be mailed out this week.  Margaret and Jennifer attended the artist selection meeting for the Park and Ride Sound Transit project on Mercer Island this summer and the artist has some preliminary artwork ready for viewing.

New pieces installed by Louise McDowell, and Sara Mall Johani.  John Liczwinkoís pieces will be removed.  Susan reported that the Veteranís Pergola is still under permit approval, and once the soil test is complete and approved the project will be installed.  The goal for installment is November 11th, Veteranís Day. 


Community Arts:

Staff Report:   

Wayne Chabre, artist for new Community Center will be working with the architect once we are in contract with him.


City Council Report:                

The I-90 express lanes debate continues and could end up on the November 2nd ballot.  City Council approved public process for Luther Burbank Park.  Continue budget process in earnest over the next few months.
