What do you enjoy most about leading your department?
I enjoy leading a department that provides a vast array of quality programs and services that meet the many needs of our community.  With children of my own, I love seeing families and young people using our parks, participating in recreation programs, and creating shared connections.  The responsibility of stewarding our public lands is something I take seriously, and I am grateful to hold a position that allows me to ensure they will be available for future generations.
What do you enjoy most about working for the City of Mercer Island?

I feel honored and privileged to serve my own community as the Parks & Recreation Director.  I believe our parks system is critical to supporting an active and livable community and I personally benefit every day from our wonderful outdoor treasures.  I relish the opportunity to collaborate with a strong group of partners and citizens who want to see Mercer Island thrive.  In addition, I am supported by a fantastic team of staff who work diligently to stay in touch with residents’ needs and continually elevate our public services.
