All City Facilities CLOSED Tuesday, Feb 12

Feb 11, 2019 - (10:00pm) Due to the dangerous driving conditions and a very challenging, slushy commute expected tomorrow morning, all City offices and facilities will be CLOSED tomorrow, Tuesday, February 12. This includes City Hall, Public Works, Luther Burbank Admin, the Community Center (MICEC), and the Municipal Court.
Similar to the School District, whose employees live all over the region, the City intends the closure to minimize unnecessary employee driving and hopes residents will do the same.

Many other municipalities have decided to close in the interests of public safety (e.g. Bothell, Kirkland, Shoreline), as well as the MI School District, UW-Seattle, UW-Bothell, UW-Tacoma, and Bellevue College.

The City’s Thrift Shop plans to run on reduced hours all week: 10:00am-5:00pm each day, weather-permitting.  City plow crews will continue their coordinated emergency response on 24/7 shifts to manage the latest snow/slush accumulations and treat trouble-spots.

Please report service and maintenance requests (sand, de-icer, signs knocked down, etc) via the MI-Connect smartphone app or online portal: www.mercergov.org/MI-Connect

Residents should call 9-1-1 for emergencies.

Otherwise call the Public Works hotline at 206-275-7608 with snow-related concerns.
