Chip Corder
Sept 13, 2019 - Chip Corder, Mercer Island Finance Director and Assistant City Manager, announced yesterday that he will be leaving the City on October 1; he has accepted a new position with the City of Sammamish as its Deputy City Manager.
"I truly love this organization and have felt fortunate to be part of a great leadership team and to be surrounded by great staff in my own department and throughout the organization," said Corder. He joined the City in 2005 after 10 years in the Finance Department at the City of Kirkland.
“We are fortunate to have had Chip Corder serve this community for 14 years,” said Mayor Debbie Bertlin.  “His commitment to the financial health and sustained well-being of the Island has been unwavering, as has his attention to detail, transparency and all-round professionalism. Chip will be missed, and we wish him much success in his new position.”
"This is a very exciting career opportunity for Chip and we’re all grateful for his many years of service to the Mercer Island community,” said Interim City Manager Jessi Bon
The City will take this opportunity to evaluate the staffing structure of the Finance Department.
