Recology Billing Statements Mailed This Week

Nov 12, 2019 - This week, residents will begin receiving their first Recology billing statement in the mail -- many customers will see a credit on their account for extra cans they did not use/need during October, or for downsizing their level of service. Per the City's contract, rates will not change until January 2021, at the earliest.
All statements will also include an "Understanding Your Invoice" flyer, which is also available online.

Residents are reminded that compost is now collected weekly, but extra volumes (such as raked leaves, etc.) can be set out in large paper bags, or in a spare can (please label cans), for a small fee. Learn more about compost guidelines from Recology's Mercer Island website.

New this year: Recology will be providing FREE curbside collection of holiday trees as long as they are undecorated and unflocked. Please cut them into 6-foot segments, or shorter, and set out during the first two full weeks of January. With this new option, the City will no longer be offering free tree chipping at the Public Works yard behind City Hall.
