We regret to inform you that the City is unable to coordinate and offer the Leap for Green Fair in 2019. Due to insufficient funding, the reduction of staff, and the failure of Proposition 1, the City was forced to make a number of reductions in non-essential programs and services in order to balance the 2019-2020 Biennial Budget. Given the City Council's subsequent directive to make a long-term plan for insufficient revenues in the future, spending was further reduced by an additional $1.2 million...
Every year in April, the City of Mercer Island holds the Leap for Green Sustainability Fair at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center (MICEC).
This FREE event began in 2008 to celebrate Earth Day (April 22) by promoting environmental practices and activities for kids and adults, and to raise general awareness of local sustainability resources.
