Project Timeline (Estimate): starting July 18 and planned for completion by the end of September

Project Updates:

7/18/2016:  This week, the project begins with equipment staging, then saw cutting and curb/drainage in the southbound lane.

7/25/2016:  This week, Lakeridge Paving continued working on the southbound side of ICW between SE 40th Street and Merrimount Drive, completing the pouring of curb and gutter repair areas, paving several sections of asphalt sidewalk, and patching several areas of traffic lanes.  On Friday, the southbound lane closure will be removed and staged for upcoming northbound lane work.

8/1/2016:  This week, traffic control for a northbound lane closure begins around the Merrimount Drive to 4300 block vicinity, and flaggers will be present.  Contractors will remove approx. 300 feet of old curb and sidewalk, then start on storm drainage repairs. Later in the week new curbs will be poured.

8/8/2016:  This week all work occurred in the northbound lane: storm drain repairs, prep for curb and sidewalk repairs near Merrimount Drive, then similar prep in the 4300 block. After this week, crews hope to reopen the Merrimount Drive intersection to its normal layout.

8/15/2016:  This week, Lakeridge Paving had the northbound curb lane closed from 4200 block up to the SE 40th Street traffic signal, allowing repairs of curbs and sidewalks.  Northbound traffic experienced some travel delays because of the limited capacity of a single lane -- next week, off-duty police officers will be helping with traffic efficiency.  This week had no lane closures on the southbound side.

8/22/2016:  This week will be northbound asphalt patching, and pouring of concrete driveway approaches. Weds and Thurs will be used for final grinding of northbound and southbound lanes, involving dumptrucks and heavy equipment that could lead to possible minor delays. Off-duty police officers will assist with traffic . Friday will see the installation of new vehicle detection loops.

8/29/2016:  Paving will occur on Tuesday (east half of roadway) and Weds (west half), weather permitting. Weds Aug 31 is the first day of school, so traffic delays may be unavoidable, but police and flaggers will be onsite.

9/5/2016:  Despite wet weather, most pavement marking were applied successfully, and most utility adjustments (water valves, sewer covers, etc) were completed. Island Crest Way was reopened to 4-lanes of traffic by week's end.

9/12/2016:  This week SE 42nd Street paving was completed and minor project details will continue for a few more weeks (with no traffic interruptions).
