Communications Manager

Mason Luvera

Mason Luvera

Mason joined the Mercer Island team in 2021 and brings diverse expertise in communications and community engagement to the City. He was previously the Communications Manager for the Bellevue Downtown Association, where he built the city center’s brand and served as a key liaison between the media, businesses, and the City of Bellevue. Prior to his time on the Eastside, Mason led communications for another downtown management organization, worked for communications agencies on both the east and west coasts, and served as a communications director in higher education. He also believes strongly in community involvement and serving cities he believes in, including an appointment to the Bellevue Police Department’s advisory council, the board of the Downtown Everett Association and as vice chair of the Bellingham International Airport’s advisory board.

Mason is a proud alumnus of Western Washington University and currently serves on the university's Foundation Board of Directors. He also founded and serves as the professional advisor to WWU’s Public Relations Society of America chapter and guest lectures on public engagement communications. When he's not at work, you might find him exploring a new neighborhood, cooking for friends, or traveling abroad.
