Commercial building permits

Commercial building permits cover projects involving site development, construction and renovation of commercial buildings, tenant space construction or remodel for businesses, and construction work for multifamily-residential buildings that contain more than two residential units. That is typically under the International Building code.

*You will need separate permits for any work that alters or adds to the fire, plumbing, mechanical or electrical systems. Work that adds or replaces fixtures or appliances may also require a separate permit.

Commercial Tenant Improvements

The following information shall apply to the construction, alteration, relocation, enlargement, change of use and occupancy, replacement, repair, equipment installation, and demolition work associated with tenant improvements and build-outs and within the scope of the International Building Code. (IBC)

Commercial / Multifamily Re-Roof Permits

Re-Roof permits are required for roofing work on commercial or multifamily structures.

Commercial and Multifamily Electrical Permits

Commercial and Multifamily Electrical Permits typically require plan review. Minor work may be exempt from plan review with prior approval from the Inspector.
